Locally established, Éco-Nature is also a social economy stimulator. In order words, it contributes to community development through social rehabilitation programs and long-term job creation.
As initiator and manager of the Rivère-des-Mille-Îles’ Park, Éco-Nature offers multiple environmental education programs and ecotourism activities. The organisation is also responsible for its thirty islands’ infrastructures and patrolling, making them all the more accessible and safe for outdoors activities.
Included in its conservation mandate is the protection of the Rivière des Mille Îles’ marshland and islands, officially recognized as some of the St-Lawrence’s most exceptional natural habitats. Moreover, Éco-Nature seeks to broaden its activity by making all of the river’s remaining natural areas into protected ones.
The organisation is supported financially by the City of Laval, the Town of Rosemère, the sale of its products and services, its governmental partnerships and its own membership. All profits ensure the upkeep of its conservation projects and the meticulous development of the Rivière des Mille Îles’ natural areas.
